– Pre-Fall 2013 –
The lovely duo, the great Viktor and Rolf, have released a superb Pre-Fall collection. It’s another line up of fashion forward looks for a professional woman going in and out of the office. The ruffle detail throughout is really cool and adds a quirky dimension. Of course, their jackets, coats and furs are masterfully done and the tuxedo attributes really help strengthen the woman behind this closet.
– Men Fall 2013 –
V&K’s clothing for men are classic fun details and finishings. I want everything from this collection! The fabric choices are phenomenal, sophisticated, masculine and effortlessly cool. There’s great sheen, loud prints, stripes and fashionable comfort. The guy looks good and he knows it.
– Fall 2013 –
One of the V&K’s infamous details I love very much are the over-the-top bows. With the stark black and white, leather, ruffle skirts, voluminous shapes, and preppy prints, I think of a rebellious Catholic school girl. If she must wear the uniform, she’s going to wear it exactly how she wants. I’d definitely hang out with this girl.
– Resort 2014 –
Out of all seasons of the year, I find Resort to be highly lavish and chic-ly comfortable. Viktor & Rolf’s Resort collection for next year embodies my very opinion. The clothes are strong and current, yet easy to wear and so accessible. I must comment on the conservative aspect of the designs. I see a young modern Royal Princess ready for any occasion she must attend. The masculine tailoring mixed with the sweet and feminine pieces make this future Queen a force to be reckoned with, as well as a woman clearly true to her duties.
– Men Spring 2014 –
I can definitely relate to the man behind this fantastic wardrobe: a nerd taking on the world with his new bad boy attitude. There’s great success in clashing book worm geek with a rebel without a cause through flawless tailoring and style.
Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren celebrated their 20th Anniversary in business with a Couture show. What an appropriate way to proclaim their place in fashion and for what’s to come. A true fan of the brand knows that the shows are art, “clothing” just an element to the sculptures they create.
– Spring 2014 –
The past few seasons, the duo have enjoyed clashing clean and preppy with rebellion and sharp edges. They’ve done it! The clothes are fun, striking in their simplicity and adorned with classroom hardware. Their play on the school uniform is inventive and definitely attracts attention. The spikes and safety pins are elegantly used, most appearing to be metallic plaid. I love the different emblems and crests, reminiscent of a University secret society.
Enjoy and be inspired!
