Whenever I need a dose of fantasy, Gareth Pugh is one of the best designers to fulfill that need. His Fall 2013 collection should be taken as an example for all those who love Halloween. Why dress as the cheap and slutty witch? Be the authentic and couture mistress of darkness! This season gave me visions of a great coven deep in the never-ending woods. I’m a big fan of Pugh’s usual fabric and color choices, as well for his futuristic instinct. The coats are amazing, grand and structured perfectly, yet give the shadowy lines of a historic figure. I would wear one for sure!
– Fall 2013 –
After Pugh’s Fall collection, I was quite surprised to see what he did for Spring of next year. His aesthetic is evident but softened tremendously. And he used turquoise! Yes, there’s color. Turquoise usually reminds me of hospitals, flight attendants and for some reason, frozen yogurt shops.
