Oh fashion, how I’ve ignored you so. To change the tide, hailing from Serbia and based out of London, I present Roksanda Ilincic. What this great artist creates is pure luxury laced with boldness and intelligent femininity. Her manipulation of shape is inventive and chic and her fearless use of color is obvious. I love the different themes and eras she explores, making them modern and fun to wear, yet keeping to her aesthetic and vision, which is important for every designer. The sophistication is definitely an easy ten on any scale. Plus, she has some of the coolest shoes I’ve seen that people can actually wear.
Each year she gains more popularity and more celebrities are wearing her clothes around town. Her first Resort collection premiered back in 2010, as well as her first Pre-Fall collection shown this year. Resort and Pre-Fall collections are a big deal for any designer.
