Since her album dropped and finally in my possession, I cannot stop listening to Born to Die. Del Rey’s voice is so deep and sultry, full of emotion and depth. I think she is a great writer. The lyrics of her songs are heartfelt, honest, dangerous, and inviting. I love her stories about how madly in love women on the crass side can get. “Born to Die” is how I think love should be.
The latest from the gorgeous singer is a very sexy music video for the song, “Blue Jeans”. Beautifully done in black and white, a daunting ripple effect is used to steam up Del Rey and her video boyfriend’s interactions. Hurry and press play.
You must also listen to my second favorite of the album, “Dark Paradise”. The devotion of the song is so intoxicating. The emotion Del Rey gives is so apparent and lush. Sit back and listen.
Now, there has been a bit of controversy about Del Rey’s performance on SNL. I loved her performances. Yes, she was a bit nervous. Yet, I think that’s what gives her live singing authenticity and uniqueness. The trembles in her voice help me feel and connect with her story of the song she’s singing. I’ve seen a few other live performances, which are all different and great. Definitely hop on YouTube and hunt them down.
Enjoy and be inspired.

You know, I was quite reluctant to listen to the album. People kept tellling me it was bad. What in the world were they talking about? These songs are beautiful – I loved Dark Paradise.
A big Thank You for changing my mind 🙂
