Drink Coaster Quotes : Scream the Question

ScreamQuote

The question isn’t ‘Who am I?’.
The question is ‘Where am I?’.

One of my fondest memories growing up was not having to cover my eyes during gory and titillating moments in movies. My mother didn’t think it was a big deal for me to see nakedness, sex scenes and violence. I believe it was a big factor in why I wanted to write and be apart of the motion picture industry. The nitty-gritty of life and fantasy on television and the silver screen inspired me to explore the concept of living and create my own worlds and rules.

Of course, watching all that I did when I was a child presented a lot of confusion, missed premises and jokes and countless monsters I saw in my nightmares. Yet, they shaped and guided me as I got older because they became new adventures with maturity and more understanding. My imagination constantly evolves and I owe it to the great references I grew up with. Upon that, a big source of inspiration is dialogue, hence my one-liners and quotes on drink coasters and I want to share more of them.

The drink coaster quote above is a top favorite line from a movie I’ve adored since the age of 8 years old when I first saw it: Scream, a slasher flick about a serial killer wreaking havoc in a small suburban town, written by Kevin Williamson and directed by the great Wes Craven. The film was horrific, clever, fun and quite the mystery with creative dialogue, which I sum up with the lines above given to the movie’s main character (Sidney Prescott portrayed by Neve Campbell) from the Ghostface killer before their first encounter. I remember the fright I felt when I heard it and would go mad if someone actually said such a thing to me, which makes it cinema gold. Take a look at the scene and enjoy!
